Chantilly Ikea Announces Opening Date

The highly anticipated store takes the place of the Dulles Expo Center.

By Amy Ayres June 12, 2026 at 8:00 am

In less than a week, Northern Virginians will be able to get Ikea’s famous meatballs at the new Chantilly Ikea. The store will officially open its doors on June 18.

The 107,000-square-foot store takes the place of the Dulles Expo Center in the Chantilly Shopping Center, at 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center Dr.

The June 18 grand opening begins at 8 a.m. The doors will open to customers at 9:35 a.m., after a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The grand opening event will include giveaways, coffee, and cinnamon buns.

The Chantilly Ikea will showcase 7,700 items on display, and about 4,400 of those will be in stock at this new location. Others will be available to order online for store pickup or home delivery. It will also feature an area with lightly used items as part of the company’s efforts to support sustainability. And of course, customers can find the foods the brand is known for, including its meatballs and hot dogs.

This is Ikea’s seventh location in the greater Washington area. Regular store hours in Chantilly will be Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
