March Madness is in full swing, and these four athletes with Northern Virginia ties are a big part of the action.

Solo Ball

This Leesburg native’s name is indicative of his talent. Solo Ball and the UConn Huskies are headed to the Final Four for the second time in the last three seasons.

The 6-foot-4 guard helped rally his No. 2–seeded team to beat No. 1 Duke in the regional championship on Sunday. The team will take on Illinois at the national semifinals on April 4 in Indianapolis.

Prior to UConn, Ball played as a high schooler at St. James School in Maryland and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

These powerhouse siblings are also part of the UConn squad. Jacob, a 6-foot-5 freshman, is following in the footsteps of brother Jayden, a 6-foot-7 junior. The Bristow natives both play the position of forward.

Prior to UConn, both attended Long Island Lutheran in New York. Jayden also attended Saint James School in Maryland.
