Susannah Keefe, the founder and director of a children’s dance program in Arlington, has been found dead in the Potomac River, ARLNow reported. She had been missing since Sunday.
The Metropolitan Police Department told ARLNow that Keefe, 52, was found in the river just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The Harbor Patrol Unit found her unconscious and not breathing near Fletcher’s Cove; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of her death.
The U.S. Park Police had identified Keefe as a “critically missing” person on August 3, noting that she had last been seen near the second scenic overlook off the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

Keefe founded Go Bananas Dancing in Falls Church in 2009.
“Susannah was a bright light with such a warm, loving, and kind heart. We are so grateful for her friendship and unwavering support. May she rest in peace,” another local dance company, Gin Dance Company, posted. “Her family has requested to respect their privacy as they grieve the loss of their Susannah.”
