Prince William County Police are investigating an assault that was reported to have occurred on a walking path between Endsley Turn and Darbydale Ave. in Woodbridge on June 12.
A 42-year-old woman reported to the police that she was walking on the path when a man approaching from the opposite direction suddenly struck her with an unknown object. The woman temporarily lost consciousness. She woke up a short time later and drove herself to a nearby hospital where police were contacted. Police responded to investigate at about 10:30 p.m. on June 12.
No additional injuries were reported, and no property was reported missing. The police have not yet identified a suspect. The suspect was only described as a black male.
