Amazon makes HQ2 official with leases; Alexandria man wins the lottery

Amazon has officially signed initial leases for existing office buildings in Crystal City, as well as agreements to buy two new buildings that will break ground later in 2019. Amazon will pay $294 million for the sites. (WTOP)

Alexandria resident Kifle Soloman won $5 million on a 50X The Money scratch-off ticket. The odds of winning the $5 million prize are one in 1,876,800. (Inside NoVA)

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors passed the fiscal 2020 budget, which includes a tax rate of $1.045 per $100 in assessed value, which is four cents lower than the current tax rate. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

A double-decker bus is coming to the DC area. Commuters can ride it for the first time next week. The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commissions is testing the bus on a number of routes to determine whether double-decker buses should be a part of future plans for commuters. (WTOP)
