Gov. Northam signs new round of bills into law; Virginians to get credit on electric bills

Gov. Northam has signed the latest round of bills, passing them into Virginia law last week. These include allowing naloxone in schools, granting permission to shoot certain animals from a car and a plans to jump-start stalled developments in Northern Virginia. (WTOP)

Most Virginians will get a credit on their electric bills because of a federal tax overhaul. The State Corporation Commission announced Friday that Dominion Energy customers will get a one-time customer credit by July 1, and Appalachian Power customers will get credit by Oct. 1. (NBC Washington)

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has ruled that there is no evidence of material contamination at Gable Farm’s personal recreation field, located east of Hamilton in Loudoun County. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

Arlington County’s most recent Master Transportation Plan originally included 26 cycling infrastructure projects, including new trails and on-street bikeways. County staff has cut a few bike trails from the document, including the Arlington Hall trail in Alcova Heights and a trail connecting the former Northern Virginia Community Hospital to Forest Hills. (ArlNow)
