Ballston Business Improvement District (BID), a 25-block neighborhood in Arlington, features more than 8.3 million square feet of office space, 1 million square feet of retail and 8,000 residential units. It’s looking to bring the community closer together through BallstonConnect Club (BCC).
Still in its early phases of development, the club will provide members with exclusive deals at restaurants and retail stores, as well as other activities like outdoor movies and yoga in the park.
The program’s mobile app lists out a Ballston business directory, which users can search via map, category or alphabetically for hotels, restaurants, shops and more. The app also includes a calendar of events, a section called “Ballston Voices” that features reviews and other residents’ opinions and a virtual ambassador program. The BCC is set to launch by the end of summer 2019.
Dittmar Company, a developer, builder and manager of over 24 apartment communities in NoVA, is the first member to join BCC. The membership will offer exclusive benefits to Dittmar residents and employees in Ballston. As a founding member, Dittmar will receive BCC memberships to its residents in seven of its current properties.
Those who would like to join the program, but do not live in a Dittmar building, can still participate in the club for a price of $120 per person annually. Ballston BID’s goal is to raise $500,000 annually to fund the BallstonConnect Club’s programs. For more information, visit ballstonbid.com/ballston-connect.
