A Virginia Senate panel has voted in favor of legislation that would approve the Equal Rights Amendment. The legislation still needs to be voted on by the full Senate and House, but if passed, Virginia would be the 38th state to ratify the ERA.

Toyota has issued a recall on 1.7 million of its vehicles in North America to replace potentially dangerous Takata front passenger air bag inflators. Car models that are part of the recall include the Toyota 4Runner (2010-2016), Corolla and Matrix (2010-2013) and the Sienna (2011-2014). Some Lexus models are also impacted by the recall.
