Arlington Chamber of Commerce supports Amazon incentives; Sen. Black not seeking re-election

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce has formally supported the Arlington County government’s planned incentive package for Amazon. The package includes a 15-year payout of $23 million.

Starting Monday, Jan. 7, Metro riders will be allowed to bring bikes onto trains at all times of the day, as Metro has announced riders can now do so during rush hour. However, riders must still only do so when space is available.

In the annual Virginia Lottery’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, two $1 million tickets were sold in Arlington and Chantilly. Another big winner was sold in Manassas, worth $100,000.

Blackboard Inc., the education technology company, has announced that it will move its headquarters from DC to Reston in 2019. The company already has an office in Reston, but will now combine it with its DC staff for one central space.
