Fairfax County Supervisor Smyth retiring; A Taste of Urbanspace officially opens

Northern Virginia’s daily dose of local and national new for Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Linda Q. Smyth, who has served as a Fairfax County supervisor for 15 years, announced that she will not seek reelection next year. Smyth, a Democrat, represents the Providence district, which includes Tysons Corner and areas in Merrifield and Falls Church.

A Taste of Urbanspace, the eatery that is replacing Mike Isabella’s Isabella Eatery, officially opened on Tuesday in Tysons Galleria. The restaurants making up the space include Stomping Ground Cafe, Andy’s Pizza, Ice Cream Jubilee, Donburi and Sen Khao.

Loudoun lawmakers are proposing to institute distance-based pricing on the Dulles Greenway that connects Route 28 and Leesburg. The plan would set the price at $1 per mile and would be in effect during off-peak hours. The current pricing is $5.65 during off-peak hours and $6.65 at peak hours.
