There is a wind advisory in effect for the D.C. area until 4 p.m. Wednesday, as the National Weather Service forecasts there could be wind gusts as high as 50 mph. The high winds could impact unsecured objects, blow down tree limbs or cause power outages.

Two meetings have been scheduled by Arlington officials to gather input from the public on the planned arrival of Amazon’s new HQ2 in Crystal City. The forums will take place on Dec. 17 and Jan. 12, though no locations have been confirmed as of yet.

Reston is expected to see a population increase of nearly 40,000 over the next 25 years according to Fairfax County’s Demographic Reports 2018. With currently 64,546 people living in the 20190, 20191 and 20194 zip codes, the population is projected to reach 103,989 by 2045.

Amazon won’t be the only e-commerce company coming to the area. Stafford County board of supervisors unanimously approved a new, 485,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center for e-commerce companies next to Stafford Regional Airport. The warehouse is expected to begin construction by the end of next year and could employ 100-200 people.

The Arlington Memorial Bridge, already under construction with half of its lanes closed, will shut down completely to all drivers, cyclists and pedestrians from 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10.
