On Thursday, Metro approved the sale of food and drinks on Metro property anywhere outside the areas of the Metrorail system that riders must pay to access. In addition to vending machines and other food related opportunities, this will allow Metro staff to permit other commercial activity.

The Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority is now seeking contractors for its planned $60 million upgrades to Concourse C/D at Dulles International Airport. Fire Station #7 in Fairlington is being temporarily relocated due to structural and safety concerns. The station will be out of service until renovations can be completed; Fire Station #9, Fire Station 203, Fire Station 206 and Fire Station 410 will take over the area previously covered by Fire Station #7, while the stations firefights will transfer to Fire Station #4 in Clarendon.
