Wednesday, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring filed a lawsuit against Purdue Pharma, claiming that the company is responsible for creating the opioid crisis. Herring says that Purdue Pharma violated the Virginia Consumer Protection Act by lying about “the purported safety, efficacy and benefits of its opioids, including OxyContin.”
