Caps’ owner pays to keep Metro open until 12:30 a.m. for Game 5; Columbia Pike Caps banner causes some confusion

Despite Game 5 taking place in Las Vegas, Monumental Sports Entertainment has paid $100,000 to keep the Metro open one hour later than usual, until 12:30 a.m.

After a 71-year-old woman was struck and killed while crossing the street last month, the Fairfax County Police Department’s Reston District launched a pedestrian and bicyclist public safety campaign on Monday, June 4, that will last through the end of summer. As part of the campaign, find information displayed at busy intersections and expect police to more aggressively enforce safety violations.

Sunday, a 35-year-old man chased after and restrained a man who had snatched a purse from and assaulted a 48-year-old woman in the parking lot at the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle near Burlington Coat Factory and JC Penny’s.
