Wednesday afternoon, the Forest Glen Senior Apartments went up in flames, causing four people to be sent to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Later that night, the Fair Lakes Shopping Center United Bank also caught fire; the roof of the bank collapsed. Thursday morning, a man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a fire broke out on the ninth floor of the Sentinel of Landmark apartments on Alexandria’s Stephenson Avenue. The fire spread to the 10th floor and then a first floor balcony after debris fell.

The New York Times published an article on Wednesday detailing the treatment of multiple Washington Redskins cheerleaders, nine of whom were reportedly made to act as escorts to male sponsors and suite holders at a night club in Costa Rica after a 14-hour work day that included dance practice and a photo shoot where the men were allowed to observe the women topless and covered in body paint. The cheerleaders’ director, Stephanie Jojokian, has denied forcing any of the women to do this.
