In response to the shootings at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Fairfax County Public Schools discussed what they could do to increase security at their schools during a board meeting last week. The board voted to approve a resolution encouraging Congress to take action against gun violence, a solution that was met with criticism by school board member Elizabeth Schultz.

The Reston Association’s CEO, Cate Fulkerson, will be stepping down from her current position and taking an adviser role beginning March 1. Fulkerson’s reason for leaving has not yet been made clear. An acting CEO will take over until the Board of Directors can find someone else to fill the position.
