Bags of birdseed with KKK flier inside found in Leesburg; 13 malnourished children found chained in California home

This past weekend, bags of birdseed that contained a KKK flier, which said that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a “communist alcoholic pervert,” were found scattered on driveways in Leesburg’s Aurora Court.

A 17-year-old girl escaped from the California home in which she and her 12 siblings were chained to their beds. The children, ranging in age from 2-29, did not resemble their biological age, likely due to severe malnourishment. Their parents, 57-year-old David Allen Turpin and 49-year-old Louise Anna Turpin are being held on $9 million bail.
