Sterling 21-year-old suspected of obstructing investigation into terrorist activity; Va. Dept. of Elections aware of voting issues since 2015

A 21-year-old from Sterling has been accused of obstructing an investigation into terrorist activity because he destroyed a computer thumb drive that authorities believe could have contained important information. The man, Sean Andrew Duncan, will appear in federal court in Alexandria on Tuesday.

The Virginia Department of Elections, Fredericksburg’s Electoral Board and Bill Howell, speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, were initially made aware of issues related to where voters had been assigned in early 2015.
