Despite criticism of I-66’s new toll lane hours and costs, the Virginia Department of Transportation has no set plan to change toll hours or the algorithm that determines the toll price. While Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne said to WTOP that he would be open to lowering target speeds, Layne said that traffic is moving and the algorithm appears to be serving its purpose.

A federal appeals court has ruled that Manassas City Detective David E. Abbott Jr., who committed suicide in 2015 after being charged for molesting two young boys, violated then 17-year-old Trey Sims’ Fourth Amendment right when Abbott obtained two search warrants to photograph Sims’ genitalia while Sims was being investigated for sexting his then 15-year-old girlfriend.
