Danica Roem attends American Music Awards with Demi Lovato; Cult leader Charles Manson dies at 83

Sunday night, Danica Roem, the newly elected transgender delegate who recently defeated Bob Marshall in Virginia’s 13th District race, served as singer Demi Lovato’s  date to the American Music Awards.

At 83 years old, Charles Manson, the cult leader who convinced his followers to embark on a 1969 two-night, murderous Los Angeles rampage, died Sunday at a Kern County, California, hospital. Manson’s cause of death has not yet been revealed, though he suffered from gastrointestinal bleeding in January.

A portrait of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee has been moved from the City of Alexandria’s City Council chambers to the Lyceum; “a more appropriate place,” according to Mayor Allison Silberberg.

Thieves are knocking door-to-door in Loudoun County claiming to be from a company that closed last year, Economy Blinds & Shutters. The suspects tell homeowners that they are there to take measurements, offer an estimate and ask for a materials deposit. At least 10 individuals have encountered this act, some paying for services that they will never receive.

A fire in Loudoun’s “Data Center Alley” has caused $150,000 in damages to an Ashburn construction site. The blaze was caused by a space heater being placed too closely to flammable materials.
