There’s another record-breaking sale in NoVA — this time in Old Town Alexandria. The home at 510 Wolfe St. in Alexandria just sold for $7.1 million, making it the most expensive residential sale ever recorded in the community.
This historic home, built in 1854 made news when it first hit the market last spring. It was the first time the home was for sale in four decades and was listed for $10.8 million. The property’s previous owners, Peter and Sharon Labovitz, purchased it in 1986 for $930,000. Babs Beckwith and Lauren Bishop of Corcoran McEnearney represented the sale.
“This sale represents a significant moment for Old Town, Alexandria, not only because of the record price, but because properties of this scale, provenance, and architectural integrity are extraordinarily rare,” said Beckwith in a press release.

On the outside, guests are met with the grandeur of the home’s brick facade, original wrought iron fencing, and pristine landscaping. That elegant aesthetic continues once you step inside. The 14,000-square-foot, three-story residence includes seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a four-car garage, and a private yard with a sunken garden.
The design accents, like original heart pine floors, antique chandeliers, and 13 fireplaces, help showcase its 19th-century origins.

“This residence is truly without peer in Old Town, Alexandria,” said Bishop in a press release. “Its craftsmanship, its history, and its sheer size set it apart in a way that’s not replicable today.”
The sale of 510 Wolfe St. topped the previous most expensive residential sale in Old Town Alexandria, which had been the $6 million sale of 811 Prince St. last year. The Wolfe Street sale falls just short of the City of Alexandria record that was set with the $7.5 million sale of the Clarens Estate in January.
