Curbside pickup has become a part of all of lives in the last few months. But what if you added a drive-in movie to the evening? That’s what diners can enjoy beginning Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Alamo Drive-In at One Loudoun. Yep, we’re talking about dinner and a movie in the safest way possible outside your home.
With this weekend’s showings of The New Mutants, Jurassic Park and Bill & Ted Face the Music, movie lovers can park at a spot in One Loudoun, then wait for their food to be delivered right to the car while they enjoy the show.
The drive-in’s menu includes many Alamo Drafthouse favorites, all of which are designed to be eaten in a tight space in the dark—perfect for dining in your automobile. There are Buffalo wings or, for vegetarians, Buffalo cauliflower. Hatch green chile queso comes with either chips or a baked pretzel are also on the menu.
A 10-item pizza menu includes a classic Margherita; Angry Pepperoni, spiced up with pickled jalapeños, roasted garlic and chile flakes; and an all-vegan pie with Daiya cheese on top.
Pulp Fiction fans will recognize the Royale With Cheese, a bacon-cheddar burger with lemon-garlic aioli. Sandwiches are an obvious choice, but there are also baskets, such as Alamo Drafthouse’s classic fish and chips. For dessert, there are freshly baked chocolate chips cookies, either made with butter or crafted especially for vegans.
Clearly, this is a menu with something for everyone, but if you’re still not enticed, guests are also allowed to bring ready-to-eat items from One Loudoun restaurants. That means a world of choices that goes way beyond the refreshment stand. // 20575 Easthampton Plaza, Ashburn and 15200 Potomac Town Place; $30 per car with two passengers, extra fees applied for more passengers
