By Kelly Magyarics April 30, 2021 at 3:30 pm

Mother’s Day is May 9, and moms definitely deserve a break and some special treatment on their holiday. Whether her preference is a fancy prix-fixe Champagne brunch; vibrant modern Israeli, Indian, or Balkan cuisine; or lingering in bed over breakfast prepared and packaged by a thoughtful chef, here are lots of options to celebrate the special women who raised us and continue to inspire us:

Lena’s Full Bloom

The new spring theme for the Loft at the wood-fired pizzeria in Del Ray will make mom smile, with floral creations, pops of color, living walls, an array of butterflies, and multi-colored ribbons hanging from the ceiling. Their a la carte brunch menu includes dishes like Italian eggs Benedict, Caprese omelet, garden frittata, and Lena’s Sunday Gravy, a 24-hour slow-simmered tomato gravy with meatballs, beef braciole, parmesan, sweet Italian sausage, housemade spaghetti, and a sunny-side-up egg. // 401 E. Dirt Farm Brewing

At this Bluemont brewery’s Mother’s Day Brunch & Bouquet event ($24/adult, $12/kid’s half-plate), chef Justin Garrison is serving blue-crab frittata with spinach and gruyere topped with shrimp hollandaise, and filet-mignon roast with grilled asparagus and potato hash. There will also be beermosas, and Fleur De Leah Flower Farm will be onsite offering homegrown and handpicked floral bouquets for $25, which can be pre-ordered if you prefer. // 18701 Foggy Bottom Rd., Bluemont

Master chef Jeremy Thrasher is cooking up a five-course farm-fresh menu that can be paired with Bluemont wines.
