Field & Main Offers Special To-Go Service to Celebrate Burger Wars Win

The winner of Northern Virginia Magazine’s burger poll will open on Wednesday for takeout burgers. Proceeds will benefit the Fauquier Food Bank.

We’ve counted the votes and the results are in: Field & Main has claimed the title of Best Burger from Northern Virginia Magazine’s NoVA Wars: Burger Edition reader poll. To celebrate the win, the Marshall restaurant will offer special takeout service for a limited time.

Through five rounds of bracket-style voting, our readers selected Field & Main as their pick for the best burger in Northern Virginia out of 32 competitors.

The fine dining restaurant has a focus on fresh, farm-to-table ingredients and was named on Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2022 Best Restaurants list.

Though the restaurant is typically closed on Wednesdays, it announced on its Facebook page that it will offer burgers and crispy potatoes to go from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9.

“F&M wishes to express our gratitude to all of our patrons who voted for us,” the restaurant said on its website. “This win is a testament to you and our mission, which is to use food and drink to make connections that build community.”

The burger in question is a special one: The OooMami Smash Burger uses wagyu beef from Ovoka Farm in Paris, Virginia, to create two crisp, juicy patties. It’s topped with an umami bacon jam, onions, and American cheese. And no burger is complete without a little something on the side — rather than typical fries, Field & Main offers a side of crispy potatoes with confit garlic.

All proceeds from this special opening of Field & Main will benefit the Fauquier Food Bank, a nonprofit that collects and distributes food for Fauquier County residents in need.
