Fairfax City Restaurant Week Kicks Off On May 24

This time around, a lack of enrollment fees means the most diverse set of restaurants yet.

Azerbaijani dinner at a discount? A Uyghur prix-fixe? Dutch bitterballen followed by Beeramisu? Fairfax City is home to some of the most varied dining in NoVA. It’s only natural that Fairfax City Restaurant Week would follow suit.

This year, the fourth annual edition of the event takes place from Monday, May 24, to Monday, May 31. In previous years, Restaurant Week happened in March, but this time it has been moved in order to encourage outdoor dining. The big news is that there are no enrollment fees this time around, so any restaurant that wishes to offer a prix-fixe menu can do so. The result is more than 30 eateries that range from diners and bakeries to fine dining.

“The expanded program and waived enrollment fee allows for all restaurants to participate in an event that is impactful and aids in the recovery of a business sector that has worked tirelessly to share good mood through good food,” said City of Fairfax mayor David Meyer in a press release.

The three-course menus are priced at $20 for lunch and brunch and $35 for dinner.  There are also couple and family options at many restaurants. Specialty restaurants will offer buy-one-get-one-free promotions as well.

Fairfax City Restaurant Week is sponsored by the Fairfax City Economic Development Authority and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. To see participating restaurants and their menus, click here.
