Tequila & Taco Festival Returns to Old Town Manassas This Weekend

Head to Mariachis for a taste of Mexico City.

Tequila and tacos are a duo as iconic as peanut butter and jelly. And they’re getting a chance to shine in Old Town Manassas this weekend. Mariachis Tequileria & Restaurant will host its Tequila & Taco Festival this Saturday, August 16, from 5 to 10:30 p.m.

“We’re shutting down the street and throwing the most epic block party of the year — packed with live music, games, giveaways, and mouthwatering vibes straight out of Mexico City,” the event description says.

This is the fifth iteration of the festival. It takes place right in front of Mariachis and utilizes the restaurant’s patio and about half of Battle Street.

Visitors can enjoy freshly grilled street-style tacos and elotes, plus chose to sample from more than 40 tequilas. There will be two outdoor bars serving drinks like margaritas and pina coladas. Plus, there will be plenty of entertainment, including a mechanical bull. Local band Scarlett Awakening will perform, and there will be a DJ.

Admission tickets start at $5, not including any food or drinks. Kids 12 and under get free admission. Food and tequila packages start at $26 for the Silver Tequila Package, which includes four tastings of “silver-tier” tequila. (Tequilas are categorized as silver, gold, or diamond tier.) The Taco & Tequila Diamond Package is $65 and includes samples of any four tequilas, plus two items from the outdoor grill.

Additional food and drink packages can be purchased during the festival.
