It’s the time of year when we say Guten Tag to d’Wiesn, more commonly known as Oktoberfest. But you won’t have to fly to Munich to celebrate. Here’s where you can grab a stein of Märzen and schnitzel in NoVA.
Oyster and Sausage Oktoberfest
September 14, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Kick off the fall festivities with an Oktoberfest collaboration between Mustang Sally Brewing and King Street Oyster Bar. Grab a pint and decide between freshly grilled sausages from Eugene’s Sausage and Fries or oysters served raw, charbroiled, or Rockefeller. Wash it all back with a seasonal festbier for a delicious — if not slightly unconventional — celebration. 14140 Parke Long Ct., Ste. A-C, Chantilly

Five-Course Oktoberfest at Caboose Tavern
September 19, 7 p.m.
Bring your appetite for food and fun because Caboose Tavern is hosting a five-course Oktoberfest feast. Each course is perfectly paired with a 10-ounce pour of Caboose beer, which is little more than three pints of brew included with the meal. This is a ticketed event, so be sure to book reservations for this chef-curated experience before it’s too late. 520 Mill St. NE, Vienna, $120
Middleburg Oktoberfest
September 21, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Get a taste of the countryside by making the drive to Middleburg for its fourth annual Oktoberfest. This year, the event features two biergartens to relax with beer, cider, or wine. Traditional Oktoberfest and German fare will be available to purchase, as well as locally made crafts, jewelry, and ceramics. South Madison and Federal streets, Middleburg, free admission
Bunnyman Brewing Oktoberfest
September 21–22, 28
Get a custom Salt Stein and kick back for Oktoberfest celebrations at both locations of this NoVa brewery. The September 21–22 festival begins at Bunnyman’s Burke location with a weekend-long party full of festbiers, traditional costumes, and German cuisine curated by Bratworks. The fun continues on September 28 at Bunnyman’s newly opened Lorton location with more polka music and Märzen. 5583 Guinea Rd., Burke; 9514 Workhouse Way, Lorton
Lost Barrel Brewing Oktoberfest
September 28, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Pack the picnic blankets and lawn chairs for an unforgettable event at Lost Barrel. Loudoun County’s stellar breweries like Lost Rhino, Adroit Theory, Old Bust Head, and Eavesdrop Brewery will be there. Shop for everything from fresh flowers to permanent jewelry at the artisan market. Tickets purchased in advance receive a souvenir glass, and seven-ounce taster pours of beer throughout the event. 36138 Little River Tpk., Middleburg, starting at $35, additional drink tickets extra
G34.3 Oktoberfest
September 28, 12–9 p.m.
G34.3 continues the German tradition of brewing its Oktoberfest Märzen in March, leaving it in repose to coax out the toasty, rich malt flavors. The price of admission includes food like schnitzel, bratwurst, and giant pretzels catered by the Alpine Chef. Don’t miss music from Justin Paschalides and his three-piece oompah band for an authentic Bavarian experience. 8532 Terminal Rd., Ste. L, Lorton, $40, beer extra
Alexandria Oktoberfest Bar Crawl
September 28, 4 p.m.–11 p.m.
Why settle for one location when you can bar crawl your way through Alexandria? Gather a group of friends, don your best Bavarian garb, and hit the pavement. Ticket price includes free entry to participating locations, drink specials, and a custom digital crawl map. 710 King St., Alexandria, $25, beer and food extra

Oktoberfest Vienna
October 5, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Celebrate the return of autumn in a very Vienna way with a crisp pint from Settle Down Easy, Caboose Brewing, or Vienna Vintner. Beyond the free children’s activities, you’ll find loads of artisanal goods for sale at the marketplace and enough food to keep you full until Christmas. Grab the free shuttle from the Vienna Metro or bike to town and park at the newly added Bike Garden. Historic Church Street, Vienna, free admission
