Northern Virginia Magazine’s Father’s Day Brunch Dining Guide

Dad’s taught you all that stuff that Mom hasn’t. Take him out for a meal he’ll enjoy.

By Dawn Klavon June 9, 2023 at 9:02 am

He taught you to ride a bike, drive a stick shift, and change a flat tire — isn’t Father’s Day a perfect time to tell Dad thanks for having your back all these years? Northern Virginia Magazine rounded up some Father’s Day brunch for celebratory dining with the greatest man in your life.

Ada’s On The River

Go to Ada’s for unbeatable food, drinks, and views of the Potomac River. Ada’s offers a dazzling selection of wood-fired prime steaks, fresh seafood, and vegetarian fare. Savor brunch specialties like lemon and ricotta pancakes, Maine lobster omelet, and French toast. Guests can pair their meals with refreshing brunch libations and craft cocktails. Father’s Day Brunch is available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 3 Pioneer Mill Wy., Alexandria

Bourbon Boulevard

Meat lovers can’t get enough of this steak and seafood restaurant. Come hungry; Bourbon Boulevard’s menu overflows with brunch options Dad will love: tomahawk steak, Alaskan king crab legs, bison burgers, or the duck breast. End the meal with bourbon crème brûlée and apple pie à la mode. 4301 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly

Evening Star Cafe

This Del Ray restaurant has been drawing crowds since it opened in 1997, and word of mouth says brunch can’t be beat. Be tempted by the roasted vegetable frittata, pulled pork breakfast sandwich, or smoked beef hash. This menu runs the gamut from classics to outside the box. Don’t miss the Irish iced coffee as a pick-me-up during your festive brunch between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 2000 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria

Magnolias at the Mill

Magnolias goes the brunch buffet route for Father’s Day, offering guests a magnificent meal for $48; children 12 and under are $19.95. Hit the buffet over and over for gourmet fried chicken, charcuterie, Belgian waffles, pancakes, an omelet station, and a carving station. Breakfast mules, bloody marys, and mimosas are flowing, so Dad will be sure to eat, drink, and be merry. 198 N. 21st St., Purcellville

Medium Rare

For $31.95, dive into a feast of bottomless bloody marys, screwdrivers, and mimosas — oh, and there’s food with that as well. Medium Rare offers brunch menu fare that includes steak frites, eggs Benedict, French toast and sausage, and steak and eggs. Dine in this lively setting, enjoying all you can drink and classically curated cuisine. It will be a carnivore’s delight for Dad. Brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 3601 Fairfax Dr., Arlington

Mon Ami Gabi

Take Dad to France for brunch but save on airfare by visiting Mon Ami Gabi. The buzzing French restaurant caters to lovers of bread, eggs, crepes, and quiche. Order à la carte entrees like richly satisfying crème brûlée French toast; chicken, mushroom and brie crêpe; or steak Benedict. Dad will say ‘merci’ for a meal well chosen. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations recommended. 11950 Democracy Dr., Reston

PassionFish Reston

This seafood restaurant in the heart of Reston Town Center offers a delightful à la carte brunch menu for fish lovers and landlubbers alike. Try the eggs Chesapeake, blue crab hash, fried chicken and waffles, or a creamy yogurt parfait. Enticing cocktails seal the deal. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reston Town Center: 11960 Democracy Dr., Reston

The Conche

Embrace The Conche Experience, a $48 per person prix fixe brunch that includes a glass of bubbly, and three courses. Guests choose from entreés like smoked salmon eggs Benedict, shrimp and grits, pasta, quesadillas, or peaches and cream French toast. Save room for chocolate cake or a dark chocolate brownie. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations suggested. 1605 Village Market Blvd. SE, Ste. J108, Leesburg

The Liberty Tavern

At brunch time, the Liberty Tavern in Clarendon touts unlimited small plates for $31.95 and $11.95 for kids under 12, or you can order à la carte. Enjoy offerings like classic scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, smoked brisket, and Cajun shrimp and grits. Creative salads, sides, and desserts are part of the deal. For $15 more per person, sip unlimited mimosas, bloody marys, brunch punch, and frozen margaritas. Brunch is served from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 3195 Wilson Blvd., Arlington

Trattoria Villagio

There are no wrong answers at this charming spot in the heart of historic Clifton. Order an à la carte brunch and devour starters: fried artichokes, baked meatballs, fried calamari, and sautéed mussels. The restaurant offers a well-stocked raw bar (Dad will love the Leaning Tower of Pisa raw bar option) and tapas items. Or try the breakfast lasagna, smoked salmon toast, short ribs and eggs, or lobster eggs Benedict. Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 7145 Main St., Clifton
