8 NoVA Dog Boutiques Perfect for Your Furry Friend

Treat your pooch to a spa day, a new outfit, and freshly baked treats.

Is your dog having a “ruff” day? Lift their spirits with a trip to a NoVA dog boutique. Most of these are one-stop shops for grooming services, “barkery” treats apparel, and essentials. All eight will have their tails wagging.

Bark + Boarding

This full-service pet care company has been in business since 1999, and includes doggie daycare and boarding, training, grooming and spa treatments, retail products, a pet taxi service, and even wedding attendant services. 5818-C Seminary Rd., Bailey’s Crossroads

Canine Carousel

There is something for every cat and dog at this family-owned boutique, including a bright and colorful in-store pet bakery, grooming services, and lots of pet products for both furry friends and their humans. The store, in business since 1977, even offers dog food delivery. 43135 Broadland Center Plz. Ste. 129, Ashburn; 422 Elden St., Herndon

Dog Krazy

Dog Krazy is a Virginia staple, serving area canines with items that include dog frozen yogurt, fun toys, and grooming. The first location was established in August 2006 when the owner realized she wanted to spend every moment of her life with her bulldog Piglet (the inspiration behind Dog Krazy). Since Piglet’s death, Dog Krazy has expanded to six Virginia locations, three of which are in NoVA. Fredericksburg, Richmond, and Stafford

Dogma Gourmet Dog Bakery & Boutique

This dog bakery and boutique with two storefronts includes a shop, grooming services, and special events. Most events are seasonal, like Halloween trick-or-treat sessions — In the past, there have even been Halloween photo-ops perfect for your pup to show off its new costume. 2772 S. Arlington Mill Dr., Arlington; 2509 Franklin Rd., Arlington

Good Dog Rocky

Owner Cindy Zelenko named her shop after her dog Rocky. After Rocky died of prostate cancer, she opened Good Dog Rocky to provide food, treats, and wellness products for pups. The shop also offers grooming and bathing services. 22895 Brambleton Plz., Ste. 103, Ashburn

Happy Hound

This holistic shop focused on natural products calls itself a “dog lifestyle company.” Dogs and cats alike will be happy to hear that it offers lots of complimentary treats and fresh water for furry friends that visit. Happy Hound has leashes for every season, raincoats for the worst weather days, and food and water bowls for the most pampered of pups. 19352 Promenade Dr., Lansdowne

Pampered Pet Boutique & Barkery

Buy your pooch some delicious “Pup-tarts” at this shop that sells apparel and toys, in addition to whimsical treats. Owner Karencita Echeverri believes a dog can never be overdressed, that our pets take care of us, and that “style doesn’t stop at the leash.” 1612 Belle View Blvd., Alexandria

The Dog Park

This independently owned dog and cat boutique specializes in “unique items that are not found in big box stores.” In addition to products for pets, it carries greeting cards, mugs, magnets, picture frames, and more for animal lovers. 705 King St., Alexandria
