These 5 Pup-Friendly Events Will Make the Rest of Your Summer Adorable

Have your furry friend tag along for happy hours, wine tastings, and a special hike.

It may be the dog days of summer, but your pooch will definitely want to brave the heat for some outdoor fun. From happy hours to a doggie hike, here are the activities you and your dog should attend this month.

Bark Ranger Hike: Prince William Forest Park

July 30, 1 p.m.
Strap on the leash and grab plenty of water for your pup’s day in the park. Join a park ranger for a 1.5 mile hike around Laurel Loop trail. Along the trail, your guide will go over the different ways you and your dog can have fun in the park. Prince William Forest Park: 18170 Park Entrance Rd., Triangle

Pups and Pints!!

August 1, 1-5 p.m.
Enjoy a happy hour with your four-legged friend before the start of the work week. As you drink a cold one with friends, your doggo can socialize with others and munch on delicious treats. Ornery Beer Taproom: 8088 Flannery Ct., Manassas; free admission

K9’s in the Vines

August 7, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The dogs are taking over The Winery at La Grange. While you enjoy a wine tasting, your dog will enjoy its own treat tasting as you enjoy the scenes at the winery. The Winery at La Grange: 4970 Antioch Rd., Haymarket; $25

The Dog Games

August 7, 5-8 p.m.
The dogs have caught the Olympic bug! Pups at the bar can compete in both the dog costume contest and dog trick competition for tickets. Those with the most tickets at the end of the night will head to the podium to be crowned the best in NoVA. Barkhaus: 529 E. Howell Ave., Alexandria; free

Dog Day Celebration

August 28, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
As the summer season starts to whine down, let your pooch tag along on your next trip to the winery. This dog-friendly day will feature live music, vendors, and wine tastings for the humans. Breaux Vineyards: 36888 Breaux Vineyards Ln., Purcellville; free admission
