With Wolf Trap’s summer performances released, you probably have your eye on a few concerts, plays, and performances. For those considering bringing the whole family to a show, consider grabbing tickets for one of Wolf Trap’s Young at Arts performances.
The Young at Arts initiative makes the performing arts accessible to families, caregivers, and their children. For select performances, ticket buyers can receive one free youth ticket (ages 17 and under) for every adult ticket purchased.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Wolf Trap box office. They can be picked up at will call at least two hours before the event.
Here is the list of performances offering free Young at Arts tickets this summer.
Joyfully Together
June 1, 7:30 p.m.
This performance will bring together some of the greatest voices in the region. The Washington Chorus, Alexandria Harmonizers, Japanese Choral Society of Washington, National Children’s Chorus, and Trinity Choir of Alfred Street Baptist Church will put on an energetic and unforgettable performance. $23–$33 for adults
Pilobolus
July 10, 8 p.m.
This dance company will put on a fearless performance. The group is known for testing the limits and showing the beauty and creativity of the human body. $25–$49 for adult tickets
La bohème
July 19, 8 p.m.
The world’s most famous and beloved opera hits the Wolf Trap stage this summer. Romanticize Puccini’s Parisian bohemians as the heart-wrenching story captivates audiences of all ages. $28–$59 for adult tickets
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
August 15, 8 p.m.
Jazz tunes on a summer night make for the perfect outing. Led by Wynton Marsalis, a nine-time Grammy winner and Pulitzer Prize recipient, the ensemble will bring together brass, piano, drums, and bass, for a performance full of improvisation and classics. $35–$45 for adults
An Evening with The Washington Ballet
September 5, 8 p.m.
Tradition and innovation will collide when The Washington Ballet takes the stage. The program will feature George Balanchine’s Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Edwaard Liang’s Murmuration, and a world premiere by Jennifer Archibald. $34–$54 for adults
