City of Fairfax Police made an unlikely discovery over the weekend when the body of a deceased individual was found inside a portable toilet near a busy intersection.
A police spokesperson confirmed the discovery in a conversation with the Fairfax City Patch on Monday, noting that the body was found in a toilet behind the Westfair Shopping Center at the intersection of Fairfax Boulevard and Lee Highway.
Police responded to requests for comment after a Patch reader tipped off the publication that authorities were investigating the scene. Fairfax City Police later ruled out any possibility of criminal activity.
“There is no foul play suspected in regards to this investigation,” Sgt. Lisa Gardner, a public information officer for the department, told Patch. “There is no danger to the community.”
Information regarding the man’s identity or cause of death has not yet been made available.
