Loudoun County police say a Tuesday shooting at an Aldie home was a domestic incident. The county sheriff’s office has charged Roger Bradford, 60, with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Lisa Bradford, 54.
Lisa was a real estate agent with Compass. According to her company bio, she had been a Realtor since 2008.
Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said Roger had called a relative and “advised them of the circumstances” before he left the scene in a rental car. The relative then called 911. Deputies responded to the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place and found Lisa deceased at the scene.
After a search spanning Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, Roger Bradford was taken into custody at approximately 3:15 p.m. by Pennsylvania State Police. In addition to first-degree murder, he is also charged with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
In a news conference, Chapman called the incident a “tragic situation” and said there are “several kids that are part of this family.” He said the couple have two children in college and one in high school.
When asked about Roger’s criminal history, Chapman said “there is some prior criminal history of him” but declined to elaborate. He said he was not aware of previous domestic incidents at the residence, but that officials will continue to investigate the case.
