Find a community of cat-lovers at the third annual Virginia Cat Festival in Williamsburg. The family-friendly event will be held November 7 and 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will offer workshops, meet and greets, and contests.
A “marCATplace” will include more than 70 vendors selling merch and cat-related products. Workshops will cover topics like bonding with your cat and designing cat-friendly spaces.

The author of Bodega Cats of New York, Dan Rimada, will host a session Saturday morning on the role of bodega cats in big cities. Griefcat, a musical comedy duo, will perform late Saturday afternoon.
Other scheduled activities include meet and greets with “celebricat” Patches and the cat-rapper, Moshow; a costume “purrade;” raffles; cat karaoke; and a live screening of CatVideoFest.
All proceeds of the Patches meet-and-greet will be donated to the nonprofit Purring Hearts VA. Other nonprofit animal shelters will be present with adoptable cats and kittens. Attendees are welcome to bring their own pre-registered feline to the festival. They must “be comfortable in busy environments” and stay on a leash or in a carrier at all times.
Costumes and cat-themed apparel are encouraged. Tickets are $45 for the weekend and $35 for single-day admission. For more information on tickets and the full schedule of programming visit vacatfestival.com
