Looking to get some cardio before a night of candy and sweet treats? Then consider joining in the third annual Shenandoah Zombie Run. The race will be held October 31 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
Humans of all ages are invited to participate in the 5K.
Runners will receive three flags to wear around their waist, with each flag representing a “life.” Participants are given a brief headstart before the zombie actors are released at a siren’s wail, chasing after and “infecting” runners by pulling their flags. Once a runner has lost all three of their flags, they are officially a member of the undead. Regardless of how many flags they end up with, each participant will earn a race medal.
Registration is $65 per runner through September 30. All proceeds benefit the Virginia Headwaters Council of Scouting America. Camp Shenandoah: 222 Boy Scout Ln., Swoope.
