Get Ready for RAMW’s Winter Restaurant Week

Starting Monday, diners get the chance to try some of the best restaurants in the region for lower prices.

January is a big month for DMV-area foodies. Falls Church will launch its inaugural restaurant week (the same week as Alexandria’s), there are several brand-new eateries to try, and, of course, the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s Winter Restaurant Week will bring dining deals to some of the best restaurants in DC, NoVA, and Maryland.

Restaurants participating in the culinary promotion will offer special multi-course menus for a fixed rate of $25 or $35 for lunch or brunch and $40, $55, or $65 for dinner. These deals are a great opportunity for diners to get a taste of the new, hot restaurants in the area or finally try a bucket list destination restaurant without making too much of a dent in their wallets.

Winter Restaurant Week begins on Monday, January 15, and runs through Sunday, January 21. Here are some of the participating restaurants to check out.

Deals in NoVA:

Modern American restaurant 2941, Northern Virginia Magazine’s No. 1 Best Restaurant for 2023, will participate in restaurant week with a $65 three-course prix fixe special.

In Alexandria, check out the specials at French eatery Josephine for brunch, lunch, and dinner; Laporta’s for seafood-focused American food; and Hen Quarter for elevated yet comforting Southern fare.

In Arlington, make a stop at Ruthie’s All-Day for a filling Southern lunch; The Salt Line for fresh seafood (there are specials for lunch and dinner) and discounted craft cocktails; and first-time Restaurant Week participant Sabores for tapas.

Other must-visit spots are Celebration by Rupa Vira, a modern Indian restaurant in Ashburn; the new, innovative Vietnamese eatery NUE in Falls Church; and Joon, a Persian restaurant that joined the Tysons dining scene in 2023.

Deals in DC:

Wine bistro Irregardless on H Street is offering a six-course prix fixe for $55, with the option to add a wine pairing for an extra $45.

Dauphine’s in downtown DC, led by the team behind The Salt Line, offers New Orleans–inspired Cajun dishes for lunch and brunch.

While it won’t offer a dinner special, L’Ardente’s $35 menu, available for lunch and brunch, presents opportunities for diners to try the glitzy Italian spot without breaking the bank.

Fans of famed chef José Andrés can stop by The Bazaar in the Waldorf Astoria hotel for a three-course lunch in an historic building or visit Jaleo in Penn Quarter for tapas at lunch or dinner.
