According to WMATA’s most recent quarterly budget report, Metro is losing an estimated $36 million in revenue each year to do fare evasion, the act of jumping turnstiles or refusing to pay bus fare. The Washington Monument will host a one-of-a-kind celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Two storefronts in Alexandria will be temporary homes for Virginia Tech University’s innovation campus.
