It’s vacation. And the number one job on vacation is to relax and have fun. But sometimes, between figuring out where you want to go, how to get there, what to do once you’re there and all the other intricacies of crafting a fantastic trip, you can get a little stressed. So instead, start the vacation lifestyle early and let somebody else take care of it, like a surprise vacation company.

The idea behind these companies is that they take care of all the leg work in planning your perfect getaway and you just enjoy the ride. Plus, you get to be completely surprised at the destination—something that will spark your spontaneous side. Whether it’s an adventure abroad or a weekend getaway, there are a number of companies that can make your next vacation memorable.

The Vacation Hunt
A DC-based company, The Vacation Hunt sends you on a trip to some place around the world in just three easy steps. First, you fill out a survey that provides some basic traveler information and vacation preferences. Then, you choose between a U.S., international or an all-inclusive resort surprise vacation package, your trip length and number of travelers and book it. In the days leading up to your trip, you will receive a weather report, packing tips and finally the reveal of your surprise destination and all the necessary details and recommendations. // $750 (U.S. destinations)-$1,350 (all-inclusive resorts)

Pack Up + Go
If you’re in need of a quick weekend away to break up the usual routine, Pack Up + Go has you covered and can take you to some of the best places to visit in the U.S. Limited to the states, you select your budget, travel dates and give some insight into what you like to do and the Pack Up + Go team will craft your schedule from that. They’ll provide some packing tips, but they ask to delay revealing where exactly you’re off to until a designated time for the biggest surprise. // Set your own budget

Jubel’s Surprise Trips
A little weary of having no say over where you are going? Jubel’s Surprise Trips wants to make sure that people get the experience they want, and allows its clients to receive their customized travel proposal and make any changes that they would like. There are no deposits until the client gives the official green light. However, if you still want to be surprised with where you are going, you can choose to do that as well. // Recommended $700 per person, per week

Black Tomato’s Get Lost
Really disconnect with this unique travel experience from Black Tomato. If you consider yourself a more outdoorsy person, or love the thrill of a true adventure, then the idea of being sent to an unknown and uncharted destination might just be up your alley. The idea for this trip is to traverse through an unknown environment to disconnect from the world and achieve the goal of trekking from one place to another. Black Tomato works with you to establish the level of challenge you are looking for. // Price vary

Competitours
Fans of The Amazing Race are likely to be intrigued by the opportunity to book a trip through Competitours. In addition to getting to travel to destinations across western Europe with only a 24- to 36-hour notice, this unique travel tour pits couples against each other in a series of fun and unique challenges based on creativity, resourcefulness and spontaneity for a cash prize. Though you are competing, Competitours looks to create bonds among the teams as they spend time together after the daily competitions. Down-time is also built into the trip. // $2,975
