After a—to put it mildly—surprising election, Donald Trump will take the oath of the country’s highest office on Friday, Jan. 20, and the whole weekend will be filled with inauguration-adjacent events—both official and unofficial. All said, the inauguration is expected to draw roughly 1 million people to D.C. and the surrounding region. Whether you want to party or protest, you can get involved in this inauguration at these Northern Virginia events (plus one Virginian-hosted bash in D.C.):
Inauguration Weekend at Mount Vernon
Jan. 19-22, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
As the country ushers in its 45th president, Mount Vernon will remember the very first president. Inauguration Day at Walney

The All American Ball

Inauguration Weekend Free Tours
