10 socially distanced workout classes to try this weekend

From pop-up boot camp classes to outdoor yoga sessions, these 10 socially distanced workout classes will get you out of the house while keeping your distance.

One hard thing about social distancing is the lack of socialization that comes with it, especially if you are used to daily workout classes at your local gym.

As fitness studios continue to open, many businesses have added socially distanced or outdoor workouts to their daily schedules. If you are looking to get out of the house for your next workout, here are 10 socially distanced classes and events around NoVA to get in your weekend workout.

Bootcamp Classes

Friday, Aug. 21,  9 a.m. & 6 p.m.
Whether you work out in the morning or at night, everyone can get in a total-body workout with United Sportsplex’s boot camp classes. Get in a quick, high-intensity workout to get you ready for the weekend. // United Sportsplex: 7619 Doane Drive, Manassas; $10-$20

Yoga  in Paradise! Yoga and Wine at Paradise Springs Winery

Friday, Aug. 21, 6:30-8 p.m.
Get in your yoga session during a night at the winery. After the class, pick up your glass of wine and take in the view of the winery at sunset. This event is for participants 21 and older. // Paradise Springs Winery: 13219 Yates Ford Road, Clifton; $35

Sunset Yoga @ Harpers Ferry Brewing

Friday, Aug. 21, 7:30 p.m.
End the workweek with a relaxing yoga session with a view. Enjoy an hour-long vinyasa flow class while overlooking the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers as the sun sets. After class, stop by the brewery for a refreshing drink. // Harpers Ferry Brewing: 27412 Adventure Center Lane, Purcellville; $12

Free Pop Up Camp

Saturday, Aug. 22, 7-7:45 a.m.
Start your Saturday off with a morning sweat at Burn Boot Camp’s free pop-up class. The 45-minute session will feature burst, HIIT, bodyweight and strength training. Participants are asked to bring a towel, yoga mat and water. // Burn Boot Camp: 13817 Foulger Square, Woodbridge; free

1st Annual Pleasant Valley Aquathlon 5K Presented by Chick-fil-A

Saturday, Aug. 22, 7-11 a.m.
Test out your running and swimming legs at the inaugural Pleasant Valley Aquathlon 5K. Participants can choose between the Aquathlon swim/5K, 5K run and virtual 5K. Proceeds support the Pleasant Valley Pool in Chantilly. // 4347 Club Run Road, Chantilly; $25-$45

Saturday Road Ride

Saturday, Aug. 22, 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Break out the bike for a weekend ride around Alexandria. The course for this weekly bike ride is 20 to 25 miles long and features roads with car traffic and a few hills. Road bikes are recommended and helmets are required. // Conte’s Bike Shop: 1100 King St., Alexandria; free

Yoga in the Gardens

Saturday, Aug. 22, 9-10 a.m.
Head over to the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley for a relaxing yoga session. Practice standing, balancing and light stretching poses in the center of the beautiful gardens. Barre & Brew @ Rocket Frog Brewing Company

Saturday, Aug. 22, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Enjoy the cooler weather and take your workout outside with Barre & Brew. During the outdoor barre class, participants are asked to bring a mat, water and hand weights. Fat Fightin’ Fairfax Loop Scoopin’

Sunday, Aug. 23, 7:30-10:30 a.m.
Explore the sights of Fairfax with a Sunday-morning bike ride. Join the Fairfax Squirrel Scalpers bike club for a 30-mile trek around the city. Enjoy the views of George Mason University, Fairfax City and North Springfield along the way. // Frost Middle: 4101 Pickett Road, Fairfax; free

Pop-up Outdoor Class!

Sunday, Aug. 23, 8-9 a.m.
