Just because summer is over doesn’t mean getaways need to come to an end. From treehouses to yurts to tiny cabins, there’s no shortage of cozy, Instagrammable Airbnbs. And these unique rental properties — all within a three-hour drive from Dulles — will have you embracing fall.

Ivy Rose Cottage: Charlottesville

Designed and built by the hosts themselves, this eye-catching, fairy tale-like cottage boasts a variety of architectural features on the exterior, along with plenty of charm on the interior. Wood paneling from wall to wall provides a cozy log cabin vibe. The house can accommodate five guests between two bedrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. A balcony and outdoor dining area allow guests to enjoy time surrounded by nature. Located between Shenandoah and Charlottesville, guests have plenty of options when it comes to exploring.

Modern meets cozy when it comes to this mirror cabin that sleeps two. The glamping experience is complete with an outdoor sauna, hot tub/cold plunge, heated flooring, and a grill/pizza oven (pizza ingredients provided). There’s no shortage of views thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. But rest assured black out curtains provide privacy at night. Located near 2 miles of hiking and biking trails, a meditation/breathwork garden, natural spring, and pollinator garden, guests have no excuse to not slow down and relax here.

Secluded Treehouse: Leesburg

This whimsical treehouse, complete with interior and exterior winding staircases and endless forest views, is perfect for a romantic getaway or solo relaxation trip. The space, which can sleep three, boasts a kitchenette and spacious deck overlooking the woods (and views of Sugarloaf Mountain). Modern, tasteful wooden accents throughout the house drive home the tree house aesthetic. And for guests interested in hiking, there is trail access only ¼ mile away.
