Dulles International Airport ranks as the 11th best airport in the world, a ranking by AirHelp finds.
AirHelp, a passenger rights tech company that assists passengers with flight disruptions, crunched data for 239 of the world’s busiest airports in 69 countries. It looked at data from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024, on on-time performance, customer opinion, and food and shops to rank the best airports.
Doha Hamad Airport in Qatar ranked No. 1, followed by Cape Town Airport in South Africa and Nagoya Chubu Airport in Japan.
Only one U.S. airport, Salt Lake City, appeared among the top 10 best airports. Salt Lake came in at No. 8, with a ranking of 8.28 out of 10. Dulles’ ranking was 8.22 out of 10, with AirHelp giving it an 8 for on-time performance, an 8.6 for customer opinion, and an 8.6 for food and shops.
In addition to Salt Lake, four other U.S. airports ranked among the top 20: Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Nashville.
Baltimore-Washington International came in at No. 88. Reagan National was not among the airports reviewed in 2024.
