It can be a challenge to plan vacations or make time for romance or self-care with our busy lives. Fortunately, there are plenty of hotels in the region that have done the work for you, curating packages that make Valentine’s Day planning a breeze. Take advantage of the occasion and surprise your sweetheart with a romantic Valentine’s Day staycation or treat yourself to a stress-free sojourn at these top area resorts.
Thompson Washington DC
Were you obsessed with last year’s “Barbiecore” trend? Are you counting down the days until that Margot Robbie Barbie movie debuts? Well, now’s your chance to enter a Barbie world, as this Navy Yard hotel teamed up with Brooklyn-based designer Sophie Collé to transform one of its luxury suites into a Barbie dream room. The 409-square-foot, all-pink suite is available February 1 to 28 and starts at $550 a night. Along with fuchsia, blush, and bubblegum-pink furnishings, guests are treated to welcome bags with products from Wander Beauty, a themed mini-bar, and specialty “Barbie Takeover” cocktails at the rooftop bar and onsite restaurant. It’s like the grown-up version of the bedroom you always wanted as a child. 221 Tingey St. SE, Washington, DC
The Goodstone Inn
This Middleburg country inn sits on a 265-acre working farm and truly feels like you’re far, far away from the city. The charming boutique hotel has hosted many a wedding weekend and engagement session — and its farm-to-table fine-dining restaurant makes it an ideal escape for foodie couples. This year, the hotel is offering a “Romancing the Goodstone” package all month long. It comes with rose petal turndown service when you book at least two nights; chilled Champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and truffles in your room; peach Bellinis in the Carriage House upon arrival; and a complimentary breakfast with mimosas. Take a farm tour and say hi to Grayson the llama while you’re there. We hear he loves to pose for photos. 36205 Snake Hill Rd., Middleburg
Pendry Washington DC – The Wharf
Whisk your honey away to this chic modern hotel that’s the latest thing to hit the Wharf. Show that someone special you’re on top of the District dining scene by going to Flora Flora, a Latin American restaurant with an impressive number of flavorful plant-based options that opened February 3. Relax with “A Shared Moment in Time,” a signature spa treatment that includes side-by-side tailored massages for two followed by crafted refreshments served in a private couple’s suite. And while it’s still winter, go ice skating at the Wharf’s rink, just minutes from the hotel, then ask for a hot cider amenity to be delivered to your room. 655 Water St. SW, Washington, DC
The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner and Georgetown
Both hotels go all out with their Valentine’s Day packages — we would expect nothing less from The Ritz. The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner is conveniently connected to the upscale Tysons Galleria, where you can shop luxe retailers, including Cartier and Chanel. The hotel’s Romance Package (from $449 a night), available February 10-19, comes with chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival, a bottle of champagne, breakfast, complimentary valet parking, and deluxe accommodations. At the Georgetown hotel, situated on a peaceful side street, the “Ultimate Lovers Reconnect Package” (from $1,005 a night) promises similar perks, with some additional touches like rose petal turndown service. There’s a Valentine’s Day cocktail and dessert menu in the inviting Living Room lounge (the “Strawberry Kiss” with housemade strawberry syrup and champagne sounds divine) and on February 11 and February 14, live music from 7 to 10 p.m. sets the mood. 1700 Tysons Blvd., McLean; 3100 S St. NW, Washington, DC
Canopy by Hilton Bethesda North
This Pike and Rose hotel’s newly launched “Single & Ready to Mingle” package is all about self-love for the newly single, and what could be better for Valentine’s Day. In the rooms, guests will find the book Good Vibes, Good Life: How Self-Love Is the Key to Unlocking Your Greatness along with tips to creating the perfect online dating profile. The package also comes with a spa treatment and a gift card to shop one of the many boutiques in the neighborhood. Before checking out, make sure to snap a new dating profile pic from the comfort of your room, set up with perfect lighting and a chic background for that purpose. 940 Rose Ave., North Bethesda, Maryland
