Before you know it, summer will be here in the blink of an eye. And if you’re looking to get out of the house to experience some fun, consider heading down to Greater Williamsburg for your next vacation.
Adventure seekers can start their summer explorations early at CW Lights. Every night through May 2 the Governor’s Palace Gardens at Colonial Williamsburg will be illuminated to show off the beautiful spring blooms. The family-friendly experience will also feature the finest entertainment and music the 18th century has to offer as you stroll through the magical gardens.
While you are in Williamsburg, you may want to check out the thrills of Busch Gardens. Adrenaline junkies will likely veer towards the Pantheon, the fastest multi-launch coaster in the world opening at the park this summer, but foodies will also want to check out what the park has to offer.
This summer, the amusement park will be hosting the Food & Wine Festival on weekends from April 2-May 23 and Bier Fest on weekends from July 30-September 6. The Food & Wine Festival is one of the largest in the state, and will feature food and drinks from 11 different states, regions, and countries, along with offering access to rides, shows, and specialty shops during the special day. Guests can make their reservations for the international food experience, with single-day tickets starting at $49.99.
If you’re looking to take the kids to Busch Gardens for the weekend, vacationers should take advantage of these summer packages. The Everyone Eats Free Package runs from May 19 to September 8, and offers guests three-day tickets to Busch Gardens and three complimentary meals with each ticket. Another option is the Kids Play Free Package, which includes one free three-day kids ticket for every paid adult. Both packages also include your choice of lodging, free parking, and free admission to Water Country USA.
In addition to the amusement park, the city will also be hosting their own outdoor festivals and events throughout the summer. Some of these include the Blues, Brews, & BBQ Festival (May 2), Jamestown Day at Jamestown Settlement (May 8), and Yorktown Market Days (Saturdays, June 13-October 31).
