In need of artistic inspiration? This September, head to Arlington’s Gallery Underground to view its new Focus Gallery, Reflection, a solo exhibition of current acrylic paintings by Vian Borchert.
Borchert is an expressionist artist who considers her work to be visual poems, and many of her paintings in the show were produced during COVID-19’s quarantine, as she reflected on the “new normal.”
In some paintings, viewers will see a yearning for future adventures that Borchert aspires to explore, as well as contemplative pieces inspired by nature, inner peace and finding Zen in trying times.
The exhibit will run from Tuesday, Sept. 1 through Friday, Sept. 25, and Gallery Underground is open Mondays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or by appointment. For more information, visit galleryunderground.org. // 2100 Crystal Drive, Arlington; free
