National Harbor Hosts Weekly Free Kids Days All Summer

Kids Days offer free story times, scavenger hunts, and more to keep the little ones entertained.

By Maggie Roth June 19, 2025 at 6:30 am

Looking for ways to fill in the calendar while the kids are home for summer vacation? National Harbor has the solution with a series of free Kids Days events held every Tuesday from June to August. The events start at 10:30 a.m. and there’s a different theme or activity each day.

Here are just a few of the upcoming events:

June 24: Enjoy tech-focused activities with WHUT PBS Kids to learn computational thinking, data analysis, and software creation.

July 1: Watch a special free show for kids from UniverSoul Circus. The group will be performing under the big top tent at National Harbor from June 27 to August 10.

July 8: Little ones will learn all about meteorology with weather-based educational activities at this event, in partnership with PBS and its new show Weather Hunters with Al Roker. NBC4 meteorologist Jessica Faith will be present to talk to the kids.

July 15: It’s all about dinosaurs on this Kids Day, with fun facts about dinos, real fossils, and take-home activity sheets.

These activities are in addition to a full slate of activities for the whole family at National Harbor. There are free yoga classes, concerts, and outdoor movies happening all summer at The Plaza. Plus, check out the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival on July 18 and 19 and the Summer Water Lantern Festival on August 9 and 10.
