Before summer gets into full swing, take advantage of all the local events in Northern Virginia and DC in the gorgeous spring weather this weekend. From unique theatrical experiences to live indie rock music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 

The Great Gatsby Experience

May 29–June 15

Dive into the roaring 1920s at the world premiere of The Great Gatsby Experience, an immersive theatrical production. The performance will take place across the property of the Dodona Manor, with scenes and actors all around. Audience interaction is blended with the magic of live theater to create an unforgettable experience. George C. Marshall’s Dodona Manor: 312 E. Market St., Leesburg, $40 for adults, $35 for kids

Can’t Feel My Face: 2010’s Dance Party

May 30, 9 p.m. 

Move and groove to your favorite 2010s dance anthems at Union Stage. Nostalgic sounds and 2010s visuals will transport you back to a time of skinny jeans and chunky necklaces. Princesses and Pirates

May 30, 7:30 p.m. 

The Manassas Chorale presents a musical experience inspired by the stories of Disney princesses and daring pirates. The chorale, its ensemble, orchestra, and the Greater Manassas Children’s Choir will all join together for a thrilling musical adventure fit for the whole family. Carbon Leaf

May 30, 7 p.m. 

The indie rock quintet from Richmond comes to Leesburg on the heels of its 15th studio album. Carbon Leaf’s music combines acoustic folk with alternative rock and a Celtic influence. Chicago: The Musical

May 30–June 1

Experience the phenomenal hit musical Chicago at Capital One Hall. It’s Broadway’s longest-running current musical for a reason. The Avett Brothers  

May 30 and 31

A Fest Less Ordinary  

May 31

Bring your chairs and blankets for a fun-filled day in the heart of western Loudoun County. The event this weekend benefits A Farm Less Ordinary, a nonprofit offering employment to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Fil-Am Spring Fest 2025

May 31, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Finish out AAPI Heritage month by participating in this celebration of Filipino American culture. Loudoun Pride Festival

May 31, noon–6 p.m. 

Attend the largest LGBTQIA+ festival in Northern Virginia this weekend at Ida Lee Park. The annual event boasts over 5,000 participants and hundreds of business and community organizations involved. Check out family friendly activities like obstacle courses, bounce houses, and face painting or enjoy live music by queer performers. And don’t neglect the award-winning food and drink options. Lady Thistledown’s Poison Quill

May 31, 6:30 p.m. 

Enjoy dinner and a show at this Regency-era murder mystery gala. Inspired by Bridgerton, a story of a murderous scandal, written and directed by Terry Smith, will unfold as guests enjoy catered dinner and dessert. All attendees are encouraged to dress up. Movie at the Mill: Pride and Prejudice

May 31, 8:30 p.m. 

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2005 period film Pride and Prejudice by enjoying an outdoor screening at a 19th century gristmill. Bull Run Wine Festival

May 31–June 1

Level up your day at the winery with this spring festival. Bull Run Winery will host two days of entertainment, with live music and more than a dozen area wineries and breweries in attendance.
