Now that Valentines and President’s Day are in the rear view and March is on the horizon, your schedule should be all clear this weekend. Fill up the calendar with these weekend events, from family-friendly outings to a can’t-miss beer festival. 

Capital Remodel & Garden Show 

February 21–23, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. 

With spring right around the corner, this shopping experience provides a resource for homeowners in need of professional remodeling, decorating, and landscaping services and inspiration. Dulles Expo Center: 4320 Chantilly Shopping Ctr., Chantilly, $3–$12 

We Gather at the Edge: Contemporary Quilts by Black Women Artists  

February 21–June 22 

This exhibit, acquired by the Smithsonian in 2023, features the collection of celebrated artist and curator Carolyn Mazloomi. The 35 quilts on display recognize the members of the Women of Color Quilters Network while showcasing Black traditions, history, and culture through textiles. The Winery Comedy Tour 

February 21, 7–8:30 p.m. 

Try not to spill your glass while you laugh at gut-busting jokes and clever humor, as some of “the funniest comedians in the country” are here to provide some levity after a long week. Aroma Wine Tasting Room: 9249 Center St., Manassas, $15–$25 

George Washington’s Birthday Celebration 

February 22, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Celebrate the first president’s 293rd birthday this Saturday with an exclusive tour of the first floor of the mansion and never-before-seen rooms that are normally restricted to the public. Meet and chat with a Washington reenactor during hoecake demonstrations with Half Crown Bakehouse, enjoy birthday cake, and make a birthday card for Washington. Cocktails & Spirits Festival 

February 22, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Bring your friends in the mood for drinks and fun as you indulge in some Virginia’s distilleries as they prepare handmade cocktails and spirits. Try different drink creations, watch and learn from expert mixologists, and mingle with other attendees in a cheerful environment. Fredericksburg Fairgrounds: 2400 Airport Ave., Fredericksburg, $30 

Garage Racing National Championships 

February 22, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. 

Strap in for an exciting day of thrilling races, as cyclists of all levels will swerve and zoom through tight turns and pillars in an underground arena for championship glory. Grab some locally made food and drinks at the pop-up bar, and don’t miss a minute of the action. 201 12th St. S., G4 Parking Lot, Arlington, free 

Beef Pho Cooking Class 

February 22, 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Receive hands-on instruction from a chef on how to make classic Vietnamese beef pho from scratch. Make delicious pho using fresh ingredients while perfecting the craft, learning its history, differences, and techniques. 100 Bowls of Soup: 279 Sunset Park Dr., Herndon, $100 

4th Annual Chili Cookout 

February 22, noon–4 p.m.  

Think you have the best chili around? Put it to the test against other chili masters for the chance to win up a $100 gift card and a first-place trophy. Second and third place will receive a $50 and $25 gift card, with a complimentary beer for all participants. All proceeds benefit James Madison Girls Lacrosse. Feel the Heritage Festival 

February 22, noon–6 p.m. 

Keep on celebrating Black History Month and learn about the rich history of historically African American neighborhoods in Arlington. Visit dozens of different vendors and exhibits while savoring delicious foods and live entertainment with friends and family. Charles Drew Community Center: 3500 23rd St. S., Arlington, free 

District Beer Fest 

February 22, noon–9 p.m. 

Some of the DC area’s popular breweries will be showcasing their top beers and seasonal beverages for all beer lovers. Expect to find Lost Boy Cider, Atlas Brew Works, Devils Backbone, and more. In addition to the brews, there will also be live music and great food. Dock 5 at Union Market: 1309 Fifth St. NE, Washington, DC, $35–$49 

Kids and Family Festival 

February 23, noon–6 p.m. 

Meet childhood heroes Captain America, Pikachu, and Princess Ariel as they host a day full of exciting games and activities the entire family can enjoy. As the kids play in the moon bounces, get their face painted, watch the magic show by Jake the Great, and participate in other fun activities, parents can watch the game on one of multiple TVs and projectors while enjoying foods and drinks. Chayce Beckham 

February 23, 7:30 p.m. 

Chad Beckham, an American Idol winner and a nominee for this year’s CMT Music Awards Breakthrough Male Video of the Year, will be performing his Platinum single hit “23” and songs from his debut album, Bad for Me. The Birchmere: 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria, $29.50 

Visit the Go-Go Museum 

This DC Museum, dedicated to the official music genre of the district, officially opened to the public on Wednesday. After a soft opening phase that began in November, during which the museum hosted private and group tours, it is now open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays, WTOP reported. 1920 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE, Washington, DC
