Weekend Fun: Bark Bash, Taste of Springfield, Capital Pride Festival

Add these exciting events to your weekend plans for both indoor and outdoor entertainment.

Sample delicious food and drink or catch thrilling live music the weekend of June 7–9. From playing with pups at the BorOlympic Bark Bash to singing along with Grammy Award–winning artists at Wolf Trap, these events are bound to brighten your summer.

17th Annual Western Loudoun Art and Studio Tour

June 7–9, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Take a self-guided tour of 29 art studios and two arts centers in western Loudoun County. The tour features 48 juried artists showcasing paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photography, and more. Various locations, free

Bluegrass in the Burg Festival

June 7–8, 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m.

Experience three days of bluegrass music at the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair. For accommodation, campsites are available on site. At this event organized by the Frederikson Outreach Coalition, sing and dance along to different bluegrass bands throughout the weekend. BorOlympic Bark Bash

June 8, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

In honor of the Summer Olympics, hang out with some pups on Saturday and learn pet care tips and tricks. The Boro will host two dog training sessions featuring an agility course and bandana decorating. Big Bounce America

Legacy Farms Summer Fair

Enjoy games, crafts, garden tours, a silent auction, and musical entertainment by Big Bad JuJu. You can visit the farmers market and reserve a take-home bouquet and culinary herb garden trio. Shakespeare on the Lawn at Kenmore: As You Like It

This 21st annual theater event returns to Historic Kenmore. The Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble performs a reimagined version of William Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs, and blankets to experience this tale of love and laughter. Taste of Springfield Festival

June 8, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Bring the whole family to this seventh annual festival for a day full of great food, exhibitors, performances, and live music. Participating food vendors include Burnt Ends BBQ, Nandos Peri Peri, The Vegan Factory, and many more. Dozens of vendors, such as AMSHnails, NOVA Mind and Body, and Vacation Village Resorts, will be on hand. DJ Greg Mills and others will provide entertainment on the Main Stage near Yard House. Tinner Hill Music Festival

June 8, 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

Enjoy live music throughout the afternoon and evening by George Porter, Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners, Blind Boys of Alabama, The Blackbyrds, and others at this 30th annual festival. Capital Pride Festival

June 9, noon–10 p.m.

Celebrate Pride Month at the biggest annual LGBTQ+ event in the region. This year’s theme is “totally radical,” a nod to 1980s and 1990s activism. Sleeping Beauty
