Bluegrass in the Burg Festival
June 6–8, 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m.
Experience three days of bluegrass music at the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair. For accommodation, campsites are available on site. At this event organized by the Frederikson Outreach Coalition, sing and dance along to different bluegrass bands throughout the weekend. Rosslyn Cinema
June 7, 14, and 21, 6 p.m.–11 p.m.
Bring the whole family for outdoor Friday movie nights on the lawn of Gateway Park. Films include the Broadway movie-musical Hairspray, The Secret Life of Pets, and Barbie. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and movies will begin just after sundown (approximately 9 p.m.). Various food trucks and a Pub in the Park pop-up bar will be available for refreshments. Legacy Farms Summer Fair
June 8, 1–4 p.m.
Ring in the Legacy Farms 2024 growing season with an afternoon at Temple Hall. Fleur de Cuisine will provide a picnic lunch with vegetarian-friendly options. Enjoy games, crafts, garden tours, a silent auction, and musical entertainment by Big Bad JuJu. You can visit the farmers market and reserve a take-home bouquet and culinary herb garden trio. Taste of Springfield Festival
June 8, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
There’s nothing better than a Saturday filled with good food, exhibitors, performances, and live music. Stop by this family-friendly event at Springfield Town Center and try some samplings from local restaurants and chefs. Shakespeare on the Lawn at Kenmore: As You Like It
June 8, 9, 15, and 16, 6:30 p.m.
This 21st annual theater event returns to Historic Kenmore this June for two weekends. Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble will perform a reimagined version of William Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs, and blankets to experience this tale of love and laughter. Cajun Fest
June 15, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Come celebrate New Orleans and Cajun heritage with a day of food and fun for the whole family at Breaux Vineyards. Visit Cajun-themed food trucks and craft vendors while listening to jazz music. There will be a crawfish boil hosted by chef Erik Foxx-Nettnin, with additional registration required. Columbia Pike Blues Festival
June 15
Marking its 27th year, this outdoor music event brings together thousands of residents and visitors in South Arlington. Billing itself as the largest Blues Festival in the DC metropolitan area, this year’s theme is “Women in Blues.” Live blues, soul, funk, and R&B music will be featured, along with family-friendly activities and local vendors. Juneteenth Celebration
June 15, 10:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Join the Stafford NAACP in celebrating Juneteenth with “a day of joy, reflection, and unity” for the community. This event will feature a parade, music, food vendors, and re-enactments at Colonial Forge High School. Philippine Independence Day Festival

This inaugural festival at The Mosaic District celebrates the independence of the Philippines. With a theme of “Celebrating the Independence of Independents,” the event will include food vendors, music, dancing, and cultural entertainment. Summer Solstice Festival
June 20, 5:30–9:30 p.m.
At this event at Riverfront Park in Fredericksburg, visitors can enjoy art, beer, and wine. Try local wines and craft beers while perusing artworks from area artists. Summer Solstice Feast in the Field
June 21, 5:30–8:30 p.m.
Embark on a culinary adventure and celebrate the summer solstice at the Oak Spring Garden Foundation’s Biocultural Conservation Farm. Light snacks and drinks will be served during a stroll through the garden. During cocktail hour guests can sip on a signature cocktail and participate in a silent auction. This is followed by a family-style dinner that will highlight the various summer crops grown at the farm. Portside in Old Town Summer Festival
June 21, 6–9 p.m.; June 22, 1–8 p.m.
This festival returns to the Alexandria waterfront to offer an array of live music, local food, art, and history activities. An exciting musical lineup will be featured Friday evening as part of the ALX Jazz Fest @ Portside, along with readings by Alexandria poets and more jazz entertainment. Performers include The Lovejoy Group, Brandon Woody’s Upendo, and Kokayi. In honor of Alexandria’s 275th anniversary, Port City Brewing Company will serve a new hoppy IPA called ALX275.
